Lindsay had two touchdown passes and ran for two scores as the Cowboys (3-4, 2-3 Big 12) beat Oklahoma for the third time in four years. It was their most points against the Sooners since a 47-0 victory in 1945.
De'mond Parker ran for 220 yards, but the Sooners (2-5, 0-4) committed 19 penalties for 177 yards and had four turnovers in losing their fifth straight game.
Oklahoma quarterback Eric Moore - making his first start since the eighth game of last year - suffered a concussion late in the first quarter and didn't return.
His replacement was Jake Sills, a fourth-stringer when the year began. Sills had some costly bad pitches, lost two fumbles and threw two interceptions.
Brandon Daniels, Oklahoma's starting quarterback in five of the first six games, did not play.
Lindsay had 99 yards on 18 carries and was 16-of-24 for 138 yards. He threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to tight end Marcellus Rivers on the Cowboys' second play of the second half, giving them a 14-13 lead. The drive started after an interception and was helped by a 15-yard facemask penalty.
Oklahoma took a 19-14 lead a short time later on a 5-yard run by Jermaine Fazande, but a 25-yard field goal by Tim Sydnes and a 1-yard touchdown run by Brian Aikins gave the Cowboys the lead for good at 25-19. The short touchdown drive followed a fumble by Sills.
The Cowboys closed out their third-quarter scoring with a 50-yard field goal by Sydnes.
Sills hit tight end Jason Freeman on a 52-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to get the Sooners within 28-26, but Lindsay sealed things with a 1-yard sneak and a 7-yard keeper about 2 1/2 minutes apart. The latter capped a 9-yard drive that started after a fumble recovery.
Oklahoma, which hadn't scored a touchdown in the past two games, got a 1-yard touchdown run by Fazande on the final play of the first quarter for a 10-0 lead.
