The Beavers (7-7) took an early 6-0 lead after Jake Huffman decisioned Chad Reid, 11-5, and Jed Pennell used a reversal with :09 left in the match to take the 12-11 decision over Jake Rosholt.
"You hope you seniors would come out and wrestle a little better, but they (Oregon State) wrestled hard," head coach John Smith said. "It was one of those matches where we settled in on winng instead of forcing it a little more and getting majors."
The Cowboys (11-0) cut the lead to 6-4 after Muhammed Lawal picked up a major decision over Jason Lovell.
The Plano, Texas, native recorded three takedowns in the first period to take a 6-2 lead heading into the second period.
Lawal then garnered six takedowns in the final two periods before notching the 19-7 victory.
Oregon State's 11th ranked Andy Bowlby decisioned No. 18 Willie Gruenwald, 3-2, to extend their lead to 9-4.
The Pokes got within two before intermission after Skyler Holman decisioned Michael Delaney, 3-0.
"These are hard matches to get up for because we are expected to blow through teams like this," Smith said. "I expected a little bit more tonight, but, overall, it is nothing that concerns me."
The Cowboys saw their first lead of the night when Johnny Thompson used four takedowns in a 10-5 decision over Tim Norman.
Zack Esposito majored Mike Unger, 18-5, and Jerrod Sanders decisioned Tony Hook, 6-2, at 141 and 149 pounds, respectively, to give the Cowboys the 17-9 lead.
Shane Roller electrified the crowd after pinning Brian Duhrkoop in 3:27. The Bixby, Okla., native took an early 2-1 leading heading into the second period. He then recorded an escape and a takedown before notching the fall.
Tyrone Lewis faced off with former Cowboy Matt Ellis at 165 pounds. Lewis recorded a quick takedown along with a three-point nearfall to grab the early 5-0 lead.
After an Ellis escape, Lewis then notched two more takedowns to take a 9-2 lead heading into the second.
The El Reno, Okla., native notched a reversal and two more takedowns before pinning Ellis in 4:06.
The Cowboys will complete the Pac-10 weekend on Sunday as they host the Oregon Ducks at 2 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
