Cowboy Golf to Compete at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team will open its spring season on Feb. 17-18 at the 13th annual Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The Cowboys, who will begin the 2003 slate ranked No. 11 nationally, will be competing against a field that includes the top four teams in the Precept Coaches Poll, including the tournament's four-time defending champion in third-ranked Florida and top-ranked Clemson. The Gators' also return the event's defending individual champion in Camilo Villegas.
OSU's lineup will consist of 2002 first-team All-American Hunter Mahan, sophomore Alex Nor?n, redshirt freshmen Zack Robinson and Stewart Dodson as well as true freshman Chris Clarke. For Dodson, the start will be the first of his career.
The event, which is hosted by the University of North Florida, will be contested at the par-72, 6,895-yard Sawgrass Country Club and will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
