Eight Wrestlers Place at FHSU Open

Johny Hendricks was the lone Cowboy to win his weight class. The Edmond, Okla., native ripped through the brackets, recording a pair of falls and major decisions before edging out Travis Peak, 1-0, of Chadron State.
Five Cowboys came through the consolations to place third. Derek Fleenor won four consecutive matches to place third, while Justin Porter had to win six matches before taking home third. Porter also led the tournament with the number of falls at five.
A pair of Cowboys faced off in the third-place match at 141 pounds. B.J. Jackson and Ryan Freeman battled for third for the second time this season. Jackson posted his second fall of the tournament after pinning Freeman in 1:01.
Jack Jensen and Clay Kehrer also finished third after coming through the wrestle backs. Jensen defeated Tanner Linsacum of Bears Wrestling Club, 7-6, while Kehrer slid past Cole Allison, 1-0, who also wrestles for BWC.
Eric Dabbs finished fourth after falling, 3-2, to Air Force Academy's Josh Peterson. Tanner Munsell also competed but finished the tournament at 2-2.
