Four Cowboys Named First Team All Big 12

STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics Wide Receiver Rashaun Woods and tailback Tatum Bell were named to the first team offense while defensive end Greg Richmond and defensive back Darrent Williams earned first team defensive honors. Tight end Billy Bajema, offensive lineman Sam Mayes and kicker Luke Phillips were named to the second team while tailback Vernand Morency was named to the third team. Gaining honorable mention recognition from OSU were quarterback Josh Fields, fullback Shawn Willis, defensive ends Antonio Smith and Khreem Smith, defensive tackle Clay Coe, defensive backs Jon Holland and Robert Jones and punter Cole Farden. Woods, OSU's senior receiver from Oklahoma City, finished the regular season with 68 receptions for 1,144 yards. He caught 14 touchdown passes, seven of which came in a record-setting performance against SMU. Woods averaged 17.3 yards per reception and 95.3 yards per game. He will wrap up his OSU career with every receiving record and is one of just eight NCAA receivers to have 4,000 yards in a career. Bell led the Big 12 in rushing most of the season but missed most of the final three regular season games with an injury. He finished with 199 carries for 1,240 yards and 15 touchdowns. He became the first OSU back since David Thompson to rush for 1,000 or more yards in back-to-back seasons. He averaged 6.2 yards per rush and 124 yards per game. Richmond has been one of the nation's most effective pass rushers all season. He led the Big 12 and was sixth in the country with 12.5 sacks for minus 90 yards. Through 12 regular season games, he was credited with 69 total tackles and 20 tackles for minus 108 yards. He had an additional six quarterback hurries. Willliams has been one of OSU's defensive play makers for the past three seasons. In 2003, Willliams had six interceptions for 130 yards and returned two of those for touchdowns. In addition, he had 58 tackles and a team-leading 17 passes broken up. Both Richmond and Willliams are appearing on the All Big 12 list for the first time while Bell has now been honored two straight years and this marks Woods' third straight appearance on an All Big 12 list. The Cowboys completed the regular season with an overall record of 9-3 and are currently ranked 22nd in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Oklahoma State will make a second straight bowl appearance this season after finishing 8-5 and winning the 2002 Houston Bowl. Â OSU Â
