Two Cowboys Earn Academic All-District Honors In Football

STILLWATER, Okla. Â— Junior tight end Billy Bajema and sophomore defensive back Vernon Grant earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 honors for their achievements in the classroom.

Bajema excelled in the classroom with a cumulative grade point average of 3.727 in general business and pre-medicine. A two-year starter at tight end, he caught 11 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in 2003. It is the second straight season that Bajema has received the honor. The Oklahoma City native recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average in business in 2002.

Grant had a 3.25 cumulative GPA in engineering entering the fall semester. The Duncaville, Texas, native played in all 12 games at a safety position this year and finished second on the club with 81 tackles.
