Oklahoma State Baseball Announces Fall Signees
December 16, 2003 | Cowboy Baseball
Oklahoma State baseball announced the signing of four student-athletes to letter of intents for the 2004-05 school year.
All four players are from the high school ranks and have the potential to come in and contribute immediately according to the coaching staff.
“We are real happy to have these kids come to Oklahoma State,” said head coach Frank Anderson. “All of them have bright futures and we look forward to them coming in as freshman and competing.”
The Cowboys signees are as follows with brief tidbits from the coaching staff on each:
Jake is a hard-throwing right hander who has worked with former Oklahoma State pitcher Mike Henneman. He has a good slider and live arm, and throws around 91 miles per hour. He was also recruited by TCU and Texas-Arlington.
Aljay Davis:
Aljay is a speed guy with good offensive skills. He played for Mike Spears, who also coached former Cowboy Rob Watson, in summer ball. He should come in and provide some power from the middle infield. He also considered Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton.
Fuller Smith:
Fuller is an extremely athletic player with a good arm who will probably play one of the corner outfield positions in college. He is a left-handed line drive hitter that has power potential. He also played for Mike Spears in summer league baseball.
Brandon Timm:
Brandon is a hard-throwing right hander who consistently throws in the 90's. He also has an opportunity to play in the outfield, with his power and ability to use the whole field. He played in the Area Code Games which showcases some of the best players in the country.
