Wrestling Opens Season With Annual Orange/Black Match

The matches will feature OSU's four returning All-Americans, including national champions Johnny Thompson and Jake Rosholt. The wrestlers will battle for spot on this year's team.
TheWrestlingMall.com, WIN-Magazine and Amateur Wrestling News have all published preseason polls, and each one has ranked the Cowboys No. 1. Thompson and Rosholt are the two wrestlers ranked atop of the standings in their respective weight classes in all of the polls.
OSU is fresh off one of its most dominating seasons in history. The Cowboys scored 143 points at the 2003 NCAA tournament in March, which marked the most in OSU history, en route to the school's 31st title. OSU also ran the table in dual action, winning all 17 duals, and all the tournaments it entered.
John Smith's Cowboys finished last year as the NCAA and Big 12 Champions, and also captured titles at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals and the Reno Tournament of Champions.
