Cowboy wrestling set to take on Michigan State

The Spartans MSU is fresh off a season where they placed 18th at nationals and finished fourth at the Big Ten tournament. Head Coach Tom Minkle enters his 12th season at the helm of Spartan wrestling, and has a 107-100-2 record at MSU. Minkle has coached 14 years overall and has a career coaching record of 122-118-2.
Blackmon, Ward earn first win as starter Sophomores Rusty Blackmon and Kevin Ward each earned their first career win as a starter Friday night. Blackmon used a foot sweep four seconds into the match before pinning Drew Roberts in 41 seconds. Ward, who wrestled his teammate from high school, earned the 4-3 win after scoring a takedown and a reversal.
Esposito, Pendleton record technical falls Sophomore Zack Esposito and junior Chris Pendleton recorded technical falls over their opponent Friday night. Esposito only needed 2:17 to rack up 15 points on Robert Buckhaults, while Pendleton blanked Josh Ward 16-0 in 5:50.
