Cowboy Wrestling Opens Regular Season Against Mocs

Cowboys Open Season Against Mocs Oklahoma State's wrestling teams begins its road to the National Championships with a dual against the Tennessee-Chattanooga Mocs. The Cowboys, who finished the year at 17-0 and NCAA Champions, and Mocs have wrestled four times previously, with OSU winning all four duals. The last time the two teams wrestled, OSU won eight matches en route to a 41-6 victory. The Mocs are coached by two-time World Champion Terry Brands.

Honorary Team Captain The honorary team captain for the dual against Tennessee-Chattanooga is Aaron Hesler. Aaron is a fifth grader at Richmond Elementary. He is a fanatic about OSU sports and loves wrestling. His favorite wrestler is Johnny Thompson. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy for a type of cancer called neuroblastoma. Even though he likes to watch wrestling, his first love is baseball. The upbeat Hesler likes mystery movies and likes to watch CSI. His favorite movie is Scooby Doo, not the cartoon but the real movie. He loves animals, but more specifically dogs.

The Mocs UTC is opening its season at OSU for the second straight year. Last year, Cowboys handed the Mocs a 41-6 defeat in Stillwater. The Mocs were 6-17 overall last year and 2-3 in the Southern Conference in Head Coach Terry Brands first season with the program. In this year's SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll, UTC was picked to finish second in the conference behind The Citadel. The Mocs claimed their last SoCon regular season title in 2002 and their 19th SoCon Tournament Championship since 1978.
