Schweitzer, Lehmann Named Big 12 Players of the Week
October 07, 2003 | Cowgirl Soccer
The duo earned the honor after a stellar weekend on the field. On Friday Lehmann and the Cowgirls battled then-No.3 Texas A&M to a scoreless tie. In Sunday's contest Schweitzer notched her second hat trick of the season to lead the Cowgirls to a 3-1 win against Texas.
Schweitzer's three goals came on her only three shot attempts vs. the Longhorns. The Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, native scored the first two goals less than four minutes apart in the opening 10 minutes of the contest.
Schweitzer is second on the OSU squad with 23 points on nine goals and five assists.
Lehmann allowed only one goal on the weekend, a first period score by Texas. The goal by the Longhorns was the first Lehmann has given up since Sept. 19.
The Zurich, Switzerland, native had 14 saves last weekend after only having 11 through the first 10 contests. She has a 0.22 goals against-average and three shutouts on the season. Her GAA led the nation as of NCAA stats posted last week.
Oklahoma State (11-0-1, 3-0-1) hits the road this weekend, visiting Missouri on Friday and Iowa State on Sunday.
