Cowgirl Soccer Rolls Past Texas Tech, 6-0

Oklahoma State1s soccer team opened conference play with a big win Friday night at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex, defeating Texas Tech 6-0.
The Cowgirls exploded for five first period goals, including two each from Ashlyn Brantley and Joanne Edwards.
Brantley connected for the first two goals of the contest. The first goal came at the 10:53 mark on a double assist from Lisa Fulton and Nikki Wojtowicz and the second off assists from Kim Graves and Jere Boykin eight minutes later.
Defender Katie Lacey came through with her second goal of the season in the 33rd minute of the contest. Lacey scoredon a putback when her own shot rebounded off a Texas Tech defender.
Edwards completed the Cowgirls offensive rally with a pair of goals in one minute and seven seconds. The senior took an assist from Adriane Radtke for the first goal and buried the second when a ball deflected off a Red Raider defender.
The Cowgirls owned a 5-0 advantage and 18-1 shot margin at intermission. The second half was much calmer for the offense as Radtke scored the only goal of the period at the 61:12 mark.
Despite a lower offensive output in the second half the Cowgirls still finished with a 24-5 shot margin and coasted to a 6-0 win, their largest over a conference opponent in program history. The previous record was a 5-1 win over Oklahoma in 1996.
Oklahoma State (9-0) returns to action Sunday, hosting Baylor for a 1 p.m. tilt.
