Cowgirl Soccer Ties Third-Ranked Texas A&M

The Cowgirls remain undefeated at 10-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play while Texas A&M is now 8-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in league contests.
'I think we played extremely well,' said head coach Karen Hancock. 'I couldn't be prouder of our effort. We dominated the game at times and had opportunities to win. We are dissapointed with the draw but we faced a very good Texas A&M team tonight and it is difficult to get a win.'
The Cowgirls had the Aggies on their heels for most of the game but couldn't get over the hump.
The best opportunity for Oklahoma State came 15 minutes into the second period when the Cowgirls had three corner kicks in a two-minute span.
On the second try Kim Graves took a shot off the corner from Nikki Wojtowicz. A&M goalkeeper, Kati Jo Spisak, came out on the play and an Aggie defender headed the shot over the goal to keep the score deadlocked.
A&M had its chances as well, the best coming with 25 minutes left in the first half. Cristiana Echvarry had a pair of back-to-back shots, forcing Kathrin Lehmann to make a diving save on the first before the second went wide.
Lehmann made a season-high five saves in the contest while picking up her third shutout of the season. Spisak had seven saves for the Aggies.
Oklahoma State returns to action on Sunday, hosting Texas in a 1 p.m. contest at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
