Cowboy Golf Leads At Jerry Pate After Two Rounds

The Cowboys will head into tomorrow's final round deadlocked with the Demon Deacons after carding a tournament-low round of 268, 16-under-par, during the afternoon round to vault into the lead after finishing the morning round in fourth place and four strokes off the pace of UNLV.
Individually, junior Alex Norén blistered the Old Overton Club with a par of 65s, bettering his previous career-low round of 67 set at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in April of 2002. The Stockholm, Sweden, native will enter tomorrow's final round tied for second with a 12-under total of 130 and one stroke behind Wake Forest's Bill Haas on the individual leaderboard.
True freshman Casey Wittenberg moved from a tie for 24th place into a tie for seventh with a two-round total of 135, seven-under, after carding a 64 during his second round.
Sohomore Zack Robinson followed up a 69 during the morning round with an even-par 71 to stand in a tie for 19th with a 140 total, while fellow sophomore posted rounds of 72 and 69 to come in at 141 and tied for 26th place.
True freshman Tyler Leon rounded out the Cowboy lineup with a 73 before counting his second-round 70 toward the team score and will enter play tomorrow tied for 37th.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow morning at the par-71, 6,958-yard layout.
