FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad extended its win streak to six, scoring two goals in the second half to stage a come-from-behind victory over Arkansas, 2-1, here Sunday.
The Lady'Backs struck early, scoring on a header by Crystal Test seven minutes into the game. Morgan McCord was credited with the assist.
Freshman Cassie Lewis brought the Cowgirls within one at the 57:42 mark with a header of her own, taking a feed from Carla Dolomont to score her third goal of the season.
Midway through the second period, OSU took the lead for good. The Cowgirls leading scorer, Jolene Schweitzer, earned the game winner at the 70:53 mark, taking a shot from 20 yards out on the left side.
Kat Doud played all 90 minutes in goal for OSU, recording seven saves and allowing one goal. It was the first goal Doud has allowed since the Tulsa contest on Sept. 1.
Arkansas outshot Oklahoma State 14-9 on the afternoon, marking the first time this season that the Cowgirls have been outshot by their opponent.
The early goal by Arkansas also marked the first time that Oklahoma State has trailed in a game this year and was the first goal surrendered by the Cowgirls in the first stanza.
Oklahoma State (6-0) returns home for a mid-week game against Northeastern State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The contest is tabbed as OSU Faculty/Staff night, with the first 1000 fans receiving free memo boards.
