New Cowboys Begin Workouts

Oklahoma State's football newcomers hit the practice field for the first time Monday morning as the Cowboys begin preseason preparations for the 2002 season.
Second-year head coach Les Miles was scheduled to send 25 newcomers through their initial workout at 9:25 a.m. on Lewis Field. The newest Cowboys will go through another padless drill Monday afternoon at 4:25 on the grass.
During two-a-days, Oklahoma State's morning workouts are open to the public while afternoon sessions are closed. The Tuesday schedule for OSU's rookies is the same as Monday.
The Oklahoma State varsity reports to camp on Tuesday, goes through physical testing and media day activities on Wednesday and the combined squad will have its first practice Thursday morning.
Open workouts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, begin at 8:40 a.m., on Lewis Field.
