Soccer Opens 2002 Season

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer team opens the 2002 season with an exhibition road game at Southwest Missouri State on Sunday, August 25, at 6 p.m.
SMS posted a 10-9-1 record during the 2001 campaign and finished fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference. Fourteen letterwinners and seven starters return from last year's team, including two of the top three point leaders and the top two goalkeepers.
The Cowgirls have 17 letterwinners and 10 starters returning from last year's squad that finished 8-10-1. OSU returns its top 10 point leaders and goalkeeper Kat Doud who logged all 1800 minutes in goal last year.
The game will mark the sixth meeting between the Cowgirls and Bears. OSU shut out SMS last year, 4-0, and leads the overall series 3-2-0.
