Robin Ventura Named To 25th Anniversary Golden Spikes Award Team

STILLWATER, Okla. - Former Oklahoma State baseball star Robin Ventura was recently named to the 25th Anniversary Golden Spikes Award Team by USA Baseball.
Ventura won the award, given out to college baseball's top player, in 1988 following a season in which he hit .391 with 26 homers and 96 RBIs.
Joining Ventura on the anniversary team are infielders Pat Burrell, Will Clark, Bob Horner and Phil Nevin; pitchers Jim Abbott, Ben McDonald and Mark Prior; and outfielders J.D. Drew, Terry Francona and Mark Kotsay.
Ventura is currently in his first season with the New York Yankees and made the All-Star team for the second time in his career earlier this month.
