Cowboy Golf Finishes 16th at NCAA Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a two-over-par 286 team score during Saturday's final round at theNCAA Championship on Ohio State's Scarlet Course to finish insole possession of 16th place.
OSU's 72-hole total of 1,154, 18-over-par, put them one stroke behind Colorado and Toledo for 14th place and 20 shots behind tournament champion Minnesota.
Cowboy sophomore Hunter Mahan led the charge individually, finishing third with a six-under total of 278 to finish two strokes behind Georgia Tech's Troy Matteson in the individual race. The McKinney, Texas, native started the day one shot out of first place before posting a one-over 72 to fall back a spot and earn his ninth top-10 finish of the year.
Fellow sophomore Par Nilsson fired his second consecutive sub-70 round on Saturday to earn his third top-10 finish of the season, coming in tied for eighth place with four players. The Ljungsbro, Sweden, native recorded 16 pars and a pair of birdies to post a 69 on Saturday.
Playing in his final collegiate tournament, senior Anders Hultman posted a final round 75, giving him a four-day total of 296 and a tie for 102nd place.
Junior J.C. DeLeon came in with a 77 during his final round to tie for 148th place with a 307 score, while freshman Alex Noren posted a one-under 70 during his final round to finish tied for 152nd place with a 309 total.
