Cowboys Compete in Two Meets Over the Weekend

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's track and field team competed at two meets over the past weekend. The Cowboys participated in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Razorback Twilight Meet and in Palo Alto, Calif., at the Cardinal Invitational.
In Fayetteville, junior Jon Cordes won the 5000m run. The Missouri native recorded a time of 14:56.45 to finish 23 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Junior Kinnith Jones finished fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 48:30, putting him two seconds off the lead.
In Palo Alto, junior Ben Lake placed 12th in the 5000m run, finishing with a time of 14:24.12. Sophomore Matt Thomson placed 18th in the 800m run, recording a time of 1:50.94. Junior Jason Woolhouse recorded the top finish of the day for the Cowboys. The New Zealand native placed 10th in the 5000m run with a time of 13:47.38. This time gives Woolhouse a provisional qualifing time for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The Pokes will return to Palo Alto on May 11th to compete in the Cardinal Qualifier.
