Trio of Cowboy Wrestlers Set to Compete at University Nationals

Oklahoma State's wrestling team will send three wrestlers to the University National Championships in Evanston, Ill., on May 3-5 at Welsh-Ryan McGraw Hall. Kevin Ward, Rusty Blackmon and Chris Pendleton will compete at the championships.
Ward wrestled in 28 matches this year in open tournaments at 149 pounds. The Hixson, Tenn., native boasted three falls and five major decisions in his 21 victories.
Blackmon competed in open tournaments and recorded a 14-3 mark. The Cleveland, Tenn., product recorded victories at the Fort Hays Open and the Roger Denker Open. He recorded five falls and two major decisions in his 14 wins.
Pendleton recorded open tournament victories at the Roger Denker Open and the Central Missouri State Open. The Lemoore, Calif., native notched a 13-2 mark and recorded five falls in his 13 victories.
Tournament action will begin Friday and will conclude Sunday.
