The contest was scoreless entering the third when first baseman Travis Wong led off the stanza with a solo homer to left. One batter later, right fielder David Evans followed with a solo homer of his own off of Cowboy starter Scott Baker to make it 2-0. The Aggies pounded out six more hits in the inning to take an 8-0 lead.
That would be more than enough offense for A&M starter Kyle Parcus who pitched his first collegiate complete game to move to 4-3 on the year. The southpaw gave up two runs, one earned, off of eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
Baker took the loss for the Cowboys to drop to 6-2. It was his shortest outing of the year as he gave up eight runs on seven hits with one walk.
Texas A&M improved to 33-18 and moved ahead of the Pokes to fourth place in the Big 12 standings with a 12-10 league mark. Oklahoma State fell to 33-16 and 11-10 in conference play.
OSU scored a run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by left fielder Jose Virgil. The only other Cowboy run came in the sixth when Daylon Monette scored on a throwing error by second baseman Ty Garner.
The Aggies scored a run in the fifth on a balk by reliever Mike Patitucci and another in the sixth on an error by first baseman Josh Fields. They closed out the scoring in the eight, via a RBI double by right fielder Neal Stephenson.
Wong led A&M with a 3-for-5 night at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. Stephenson and centerfielder Eric Reed also had two hits each in the win.
The teams will be back in action Saturday night at 7 p.m. Junior righthander Chris Reilly will take the mound for the Cowboys while righty Khalid Ballouli will start for the Aggies.
