STILLWATER, Okla. -- Josh Fields' RBI double in the fourth inning broke a 5-5 tie ballgame and propelled Oklahoma State to a 9-5 win over Centenary College in baseball action Tuesday night at Reynolds Stadium.
The Cowboys trailed 5-4 in the fourth when catcher Cory Von Tungeln opened the inning with a bunt base hit and advanced to second on a throwing error by Centenary pitcher Nick Waak. A bunt by centerfielder Jeff Salazar advanced Von Tungeln to third and he later scored on a RBI groundout by second baseman Kenny Hansley to tie the game at 5-5. Rightfielder Daylon Monette then followed with a base hit and scored on Fields' double.
OSU scored two more runs in the fifth on a solo homer by Von Tungeln, his first of the year, and on a fielding error by Gent rightfielder Dan Davenport that allowed Salazar to score from second. Monette added a sacrifice fly in the seventh to round out the OSU scoring.
With the win Oklahoma State increased its home winning streak to 11 games and improved to 27-9 overall while Centenary dropped its ninth straight decision to fall to 10-33 on the season.
