Cowboy Golf Finishes Seventh At ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Oklahoma State's men's golf team turned in a final-round score of 287 on Saturday at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational to finish in seventh place with a 54-hole total of 848, 16-under-par, and 16 strokes behind tournament champion Texas.
Individually, P?r Nilsson registered his second consecutive top 10 of the season, finishing tied with two other players for fourth place with a three-day total of 207. The finish was the sophomore's highest of the season and was seven strokes off the pace of individual medalist Bret Guetz of TCU.
Sophomore Hunter Mahan carded a one-over 73 during his final round to finish tied for 29th place with a 213 total, while senior Anders Hultman came in three strokes back at 216 after firing a 73 of his own to tie for 42nd place.
Freshman Alex Nor?n notched a final-round 75 to finish tied for 52nd place with a 218 total.
Fellow freshman Dayton Rose carded the first sub-70 round of his collegiate career on Saturday, turning in a 69 to claim sole possession of 67th place.
The Cowboys will return to action on April 29 when they travel to Hutchinson, Kan., for the Big 12 Championships.
