Oklahoma State Defeats Memphis 12-1

STILLWATER, Okla. - Junior righthander Chris Reilly pitched six scoreless innings to lead Oklahoma State to a 12-1 win over Memphis in baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Reynolds Stadium.
Reilly allowed just two hits and struck out six to move to 4-0 on the year and 14-1 in his collegiate career
The Cowboys led 1-0 after one inning and scored four runs in the second and third innings to break the game open.
Junior Zach Cates and senior Matt Oakes both had RBI singles in the second while centerfielder Jeff Salazar added a two-run homer, his first of the season.
Third baseman Paul Powell and leftfielder Jos? Virgil both had RBI doubles in the third and Oakes chipped in with his second RBI single of the afternoon.
OSU scored a run in the fourth on a Virgil RBI single and two more in the seventh on a two-run single by Cates to round out the OSU scoring.
Four Cowboys had two hits in the contest, led by Cates and Salazar who had three RBIs each.
With the win, Oklahoma State improved to 16-7 on the season while Memphis fell to 5-13. The teams will close out the two-game series tomorrow at 3 p.m.
