Cowboy Golf Finishes Eighth at Morris Williams Intercollegiate

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team shot a final-round 307 to finish in eighth place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on Tuesday in Austin, Texas.
The Cowboys, who started the day in fourth, slipped into a fifth-place tie after finishing their delayed second round on Tuesday morning with a 301 team score.
Sophomore Hunter Mahan, carded back-to-back rounds of 70 to take a one-shot lead into the final round before ending play in a tie for third with a final round 74. The McKinney, Texas, native finished with a two-under total of 214, making him the only Cowboy to break par.
Fellow sophomore P?r Nilsson finished in a three-way tie for 32nd place after turning in a 77 on the afternoon to finish at 12-over-par, while freshman Dayton Rose tallied his second consecutive 77 to finish two strokes behind Nilsson and tied for 40.
Senior Anders Hultman came in at 15-over-par, 231, after closing out the tournament with consecutive 79s, tying him with four other players in 47th place.
J.C. DeLeon, who competed as an individual, carded his best score of the tournament during his final round to move into a tie for 63rd. DeLeon shot a 75 during his afternoon round to move up 10 spots.
Freshman Alex Nor?n rounded out the Cowboy lineup, finishing with a final-round 80 to tie for 73rd.
OSU will return at the U.S. Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., beginning April 5 at Tucson National.
