Jamar Ransom Signs Oklahoma State Letter

Ransom made it official Thursday morning, adding his name to the list of OSU signees. Head Coach Les Miles and his staff now have signed letters from 29 prep athletes or junior college transfers.
Ransom was All State and All District after passing for more than 1,000 yards and rushing for 1,300 yards. He had 18 rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Ransom had 47 tackles and three interceptions.

A two-time Texas Association of Parochial Schools All State selection. He helped lead his Midland Christian team to a State Championship as a junior. In his career he threw for over 7,900-yards. As a senior he connected on 110-of-206 passes for 2,013-yards, 27 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions. He ran for 313-yards on 78 carries and had four more touchdowns. His high school coach was Greg McClendon and he will come to Oklahoma State with the tools to be an outstanding player. Has the size, speed and leadership skills and is a proven winner.

Junior College transfer who is already on campus and has a chance to make an immediate contribution. Carson earned All American and All Jayhawk Conference honors at Garden City. He was considered a top junior college defensive line recruit by virtually every source out there that covers junior colleges. Before signing with OSU he had previously committed to Colorado and was recruited by Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Missouri. Carson fills an immediate need on the Cowboy defense. Collins earned All District 11-5A honors despite playing wide receiver in a veer run oriented offense. He caught 21 passes for 415-yards and seven touchdowns. He also ran the ball 45 times for 278-yards and four touchdowns. His other honors include First Down Sports Top 50 Prospect in the Big 12 region and Top 100 in Texas by Heartland Recruiting and Top 200 in Texas according to Texas Football magazine. Collins was recruited by Baylor, Maryland, USC, and San Diego State. His high school coach, Mike Smiddy, says Collins is a hard worker with loads of potential.

Outstanding high school player who will come to OSU with great potential. Crosslin was first team All District on defense last year after being second team all district on offense in 2000. He was on the Amarillo Globe News Super Team and was the defensive player of the year as well as honorable mention All State on the defensive side of the ball.

A talented offensive line prospect, Cruz was named second team Texas All State Class 5-A, All District 8-5A, and a Top 100 Area recruit by The Dallas Morning News. He was also chosen to play in the Dallas-Fort Worth Coca Cola All Star Game. Cruz committed early, but was also recruited by Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, and Arkansas.
Harrell Ester, RB

Galena Park, Texas (North Shore)
Will come to Oklahoma State from powerhouse North Shore high school where he was a two-time 1,000-yard rusher. He had 1,001 yards as a junior and topped the elite mark again as a senior. Ester earned All Greater Houston honors after his senior season and was honorable mention All State by the Associated Press.

Irving, Texas (Irving)
Gold was named All District 7-5A and a Top 100 Texas and Area recruit by The Dallas Morning News. He was also a Top 50 prospect in the Big 12 region according to First Down Sports and a Top 100 Texas recruit by Heartland Recruiting and a Top 200 Texas prospect by Texas Football Magazine. As a junior Gold was All Area in The Dallas Morning News and the Coca Cola All Area Offensive Most Valuable Player. Gold rushed for 1,901-yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior. He came back this season with over 1,385-yards rushing and 14 touchdowns making his two-year total close to 3,400-yards and 34 touchdowns. Gold was recruited by Northwestern, BYU, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

One of the top prospects in Texas, Grant finished with 67 tackles his senior season. As a junior he had 49 tackles and one interception. He was a second team Super Team player in Texas Football and a Top 100 Texas and Area recruit in The Dallas Morning News. He was listed among the Top 50 prospects in the Big 12 region by First Down Sports and on the Top 100 Texas list by Heartland Recruiting. Grant was recruited by Notre Dame, Iowa State, and Wyoming.

Hall was named All Southwest Prep league his final season at Navarro and listed on several junior college All American lists. Hall was also recruited by Iowa State and Texas Tech. He transferred to Oklahoma State for the spring semester and will be on campus for spring drills.
Sean Harmon, TE

Edmond (Santa Fe)
Harmon was the top prospect in Oklahoma according to First Down Sports and one of the top 50 prospects in the Big 12 region. He was an Oklahoma blue chip prospect according to The Daily Oklahoman and was also named second team All State and All Big City. He finished with 42 receptions for 736-yards and six touchdowns. He had five sacks and intercepted two passes and returned them for touchdowns from his defensive end position, to go along with 45 tackles. He was a three-time All-District selection. Harmon was recruited by Texas A&M, Alabama, Tennessee, and Illinois.

This talented prospect will arrive at OSU with a long list of honors, including being a member of four state championship squads. He was named the Texas Class 2-A Player of the Year, AP Class 2-A All State, District 12-2A Offensive Most Valuable Player and All District. Harvey ran for 1,794-yards and 26 touchdowns his senior season and accumulated 4,002-yards and 63 touchdowns in his prep career. Harvey was recruited by Baylor, SMU, Kansas State, and Arkansas.

Jackson was named All District 6-5A and was also listed as a Top 100 Texas and Area recruit in The Dallas Morning News. He was listed as a Top 50 prospect in the Big 12 region according to First Down Sports and a Top 100 Texas prospect by Heartland Recruiting. He was a Top 200 Texas prospect in Texas Football magazine. Jackson finished his senior season with 40 total tackles, five sacks, three fumble recoveries, and eight quarterback pressures. Jackson was also recruited heavily by Texas, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Purdue.
Charlie Johnson, TE

Sherman, Texas (Sherman)
Johnson was named the All District tight end for 9-4A after a senior season in which he had 13 receptions for 135-yards and a touchdown. On defense he finished with 56 tackles, five pass deflections, three sacks, and a fumble recovery. He is also an outstanding basketball player who is averaging over 20 points per game and should garner All District honors in that sport. Johnson was recruited by Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, and TCU.

Mason earned All District 4-4A honors at defensive end with 76 tackles, 9 1/2 sacks, and four fumbles caused. He was also recruited by SMU, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and TCU. Mason has the size and quickness that coaches look for in a pass rusher.

Tyler, Texas (John Tyler)
McGee earned All District 12-5A honors and was honorable mention Texas Class 5-A All State by the Associated Press at linebacker. He was listed among the Texas Top 300 in Texas Football magazine. As a junior he rushed for almost 500 yards as a fullback. McGee was also recruited by TCU, USC, Texas, Wisconsin, Purdue, and West Virginia.
Daniel McLemore, RB

Duncanville, Texas (Duncanville)
This talented recruit has the speed that could make him an impact player fairly quickly. McLemore was named All District and the Offensive Most Valuable Player in District 7-5A. He was also on the State and Area Top 100 prospects list in The Dallas Morning News. First Down Sports named him one of the top 50 prospects in the Big 12 region and he was on the Heartland Recruiting Top 100 Texas list. He was chosen and played in the Dallas-Fort Worth Coca Cola All Star Game. McLemore rushed for over 1,800-yards and scored 20 touchdowns in his senior season. McLemore was also recruited by Colorado, Wisconsin, LSU, OU, Ohio State, and Louisiana Tech.
Lawrence Pinson, LB

Jenks (Jenks)
Outstanding player who helped lead Jenks to a sixth-straight state title last season. His defensive numbers included 92 total tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries and he caused three fumbles. He also played fullback where he carried the ball six times for 79 yards. Pinson is one of the outstanding players in this year's class and he was also recruited by Nebraska, LSU, Missouri and Kansas.

This coveted prospect was a standout on both sides of the ball at Andress High School for coach Allan Sepkowitz. A big-play maker on offense and defense. He earned All-State honors by the Associated Press and was All-District, Most Valuable Player. As a quarterback Ransom passed for over 1,000 yards and had nine touchdown tosses. He rushed for 1,300 yards and another 18 touchdowns. On the defensive side, he had 47 tackles and three interceptions. His junior stats were almost identical to his senior season numbers with 1,003 passing yards and 1,338 rushing yards. He was also recruited by Texas A&M, Texas Tech, New Mexico and Texas-El Paso.

Talented linebacker who committed to the Cowboys early. One of the top linebacker prospects in the southeastern part of the country. His senior-year statistics at Walker High School reveal 100 tackles, four caused fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Kurt Seifried, OL

Jenks (Jenks)
Seifried was first team All State and All Metro in The Tulsa World. He was a vital part to Jenks 5th and 6th consecutive Class 6-A State Championships. Seifried was also recruited by Colorado State. He'll come to Oklahoma State with a winning attitude from tradition-rich Jenks. Has quick feet which should help in pass protection.

Shawnee (Shawnee)
Younger brother of current Cowboy Seymore Shaw, Fred was second team All Big City as a defensive back and honorable mention All State by the Daily Oklahoman. His senior seasons statistics included 35 receptions for 621 yards and nine touchdowns. On defense, he intercepted five passes.

Will come to Oklahoma State from Northeastern A&M where head coach Dale Patterson describes him as an extremely hard worker and a defensive player who can cover the field from sideline to sideline. He was also recruited by Kentucky.
Darnell Smith, LB
6-3, 220, 4.65
San Antonio, Texas (Taft)
Smith earned All District and Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player honors in District 27-5A. He finished with 190 total tackles, six sacks, three fumbles caused and one fumble recovered. Smith was also recruited by Texas Tech, Purdue, and Rice. Coached by Lee Bridges at Taft who describes Smith as a tremendous worker who loves to hit and loves to win. This talented prospect certainly tasted success in high school. His prep squad was runner-up in Texas Class 5-A last season.

Tecumseh (Tecumseh)
Speedster who will come to Oklahoma State from Tecumseh High School where he was a standout on both sides of the ball. On offense, he rushed 230 times for 1,684 yards and 18 touchdowns. Had the same kind of success on the defensive side and was honorable mention All State by both the Tulsa World and Daily Oklahoman. As a junior, he played at Shawnee and was in the same backfield with Seymore Shaw.

Lawton (Lawton)
Ward was second team All State by The Daily Oklahoman and All District following the 2000 high school season. He finished his senior season in 2000 with 37 receptions for 556-yards and six touchdowns. On defense he logged 93 tackles and 14 sacks playing defensive end. At Lawton High he lettered three years in football, two years in basketball and four years in track where he was a state qualifier in the 3200 relay, 800 meter run and 1600 meter relay.

Stillwater (Stillwater)
One of Oklahoma State's early commitments, Williams had an outstanding career for coach Bill Defee at Stillwater High School. He earned first team All State honors at wide receiver from The Tulsa World and second team All State at cornerback from The Daily Oklahoman. He was also named Class 6A-3 Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Williams was eighth in the state in receiving with 34 receptions for 983-yards and eight touchdowns. On defense he did not allow a single touchdown catch. Coach Defee labeled Williams as "the best wide receiver I've coached.
D'Juan Woods, WR
6-2, 175, 4.5
Oklahoma City (Millwood)
A younger brother of Oklahoma State's Rashaun Woods, he was named All State at wide receiver by The Tulsa World and All State at defensive back by The Daily Oklahoman. He is an Oklahoma Coaches' Association All State selection as well. He finished another State Championship campaign with 52 receptions for 988-yards and 21 touchdowns. Woods helped lead Millwood to a state title last season and has the potential to be a game breaker in college. He was an early commitment to OSU.
Thomas Wright, DB
6-1, 190, 4.5
Sweeny, Texas (Sweeny)
Wright earned Class 3-A Texas All State honors from the Associated Press as well as All District honors in District 24-3A. This season he finished with tackles and interceptions after making 117 tackles and intercepting three passes as a junior. He was recruited by Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, Arizona, and Texas Tech.
