Cowgirl Harriers Place Eighth At Big 12 Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Oklahoma State's women's cross country team placed eighth as a team at the Big 12 Championships held in Columbia, Mo. this weekend.
Colorado women's track team placed first with a time of 20:55.30 and a total of 34 team points. Following in second-place was Missouri with a time of 21:39.78 and 107 points, while Texas was close behind with a time of 21:41.87 and 109 points for a third-place finish.
Finishing in the top 20 were Cowgirl runners junior Marie Nilsson and sophomore Valentina Medina with 12th and 14th place finishes. Senior runner Alexandra Lindquist held her own with a 21st place finish, while junior Sharalee Sparks, senior Michelle Simecka and senior Vera Waller rounded out the Cowgirl scoring with 60th, 85th and 92nd place finishes, respectively.
The Cowgirls will be off until November 16 when they will compete in Normal, Ill., for the District V Championships.
