A trio of Oklahoma State University players have been named to the 2002 Verizon Academic all-District VI football team, released today.
Offensive lineman Kyle Eaton, wide receiver John Wohlgemuth and tight end Billy Bajema, represent OSU on the first team offense. OSU had more players represented on the first team offense than any school in the district.
To be eligible for the team, players had to possess at least a 3.2 overall grade point average and have participated in 50 percent of their team's games.
Eaton, who has already received his undergraduate degree from OSU, is a three time member of the team and has a 4.0 GPA in Management Information Systems. Eaton was named a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete last month.
Bajema, OSU's starting tight end, is making his first appearance on the district team. He also has a 4.0 GPA in Business. Wohlgemuth, a sophomore from Fairview, has a 3.712 in Mechanical Engineering.
Players named to the first team, including all three from Oklahoma State, will go on to appear on the national ballot for academic all America honors.
