Cowboy Track Opened Season at K-State Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Oklahoma State's men's track and field team finished fourth in the 2002 indoor season opener at the K-State Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. on January 12th.
Kinneth Jones took third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.82 for the Cowboys. Matt Thompson faired well in the 800-meter run, finishing in second place with a time of 1:57.28.
The Cowboys dominated the mile run by having the top five finishers. Jason Woolhouse crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:12.22, followed by teammate Ben Sigle with a time of 4:18.22. Sigle edged out teammate Ben Lake who finished third with a time of 4:18.25. Cowboy's Ewen North and Chris McWatters finished fourth and fifth respectively. North finished with a time of 4:19.47 while McWatters recorded a time of 4:20.79. The Pokes also placed Andy Rhine in seventh place, Ben Morales in tenth and Jon Cordes in 14th.
Jason Woolhouse won his second event of the day in the 1000-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:34.24. Ben Lake was a close second finishing with a time of 2:34.87.
Ben Sigle won the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:00.82.
