What have you learned from the different offensive line coaches that you have had at Oklahoma State?
Some are technique guys and some are scheme guys. Some guys teach technique to get to places and some guys just teach you to bust your butt to get there. Coach Chuck Moller is big on both and I think that has helped our team out a lot.
What are your career ambitions other than football?
I am trying to get my master's in international studies and try and get into international business when I am done or go into coaching.
What does it take to be a lineman?
You have to be focused and you have to be smart. You always have to be working hard and you have to have the right attitude. You cannot be totally crazy but you have to have some mean streaks in you.
Do you ever wish you could get the glory and score the touchdowns?
I have done a lot my whole career. I played running back in high school and some defensive end. Every position is good and I think I am good at what I do. I enjoy it and wouldn't give it up.
How has the new coaching staff helped you in becoming a better player?
They have taught me to finish more. Last year there were times I could have, but with the new coaching staff they focus more on finishing the plays. We had some good things happen last year, but if you take a couple of seconds here or there than we would have gotten more push and the play would have been bigger and I would have gotten more stuff done.
Who has been your biggest influence in football?
I would have to say just my family in general. They never pushed me too hard so I never got tired of it. There was always myself pushing myself, but there support really helped me get through a lot of the stuff.
