OSU Golf Finishes Eighth at Ping/Golfweek Preview

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Oklahoma State's Cowboy golf team shot a 294 team score on Sunday morning during the final round of the Ping/Golfweek Preview to finish in eighth place.
The Cowboys 22-over-par, three-day total of 874 put them two strokes behind Florida and Georgia, who tied for sixth place, and 12 shots behind first-place Clemson.
Individually, senior Anders Hultman fired his second consecutive 72, OSU's low round of the day, to finish the tournament at four-over-par and in a tie for 13th place.
After opening with back-to-back 71s, sophomore P?r Nilsson carded a 77 on Sunday and slipped into a tie for 19th place after starting the day tied for seventh.
Sophomore Matt McQuillan recorded a final-round 73 to finish at seven-over and a stroke behind Nilsson, tying for 26th place.
J.C. DeLeon turned in a three-day total of 221 after firing a 73 on Sunday. The junior moved up six spots in the individual race, finishing tied for 29th.
Sophomore Hunter Mahan rounded out the Cowboy lineup with an 11-over-par total of 224 after posting a 76 during his final round.
The Cowboys will return to action on Oct. 8-9 when they travel to Dallas, Texas for the Red River Classic.
