COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri's women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to defeat Oklahoma State 3-2 on Friday night before 537 fans at Audrey Walton Stadium.
The Cowgirls, who fell to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half courtesy of a pair of goals by freshman forward Jolene Schweitzer.
The Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, native converted both of her shots in the game, putting OSU out in front in the 21st minute after taking a feed from Courtney Robb and trickling a shot past Tiger goalkeeper Stephanie Krawczyk.
Schweitzer struck again 21 minutes later, capitalizing on an assist from fellow freshman Krista Dedmon to extend the lead.
Missouri (6-2, 1-0) got on the board at the 57:26 mark when Karen Bauer scored the first of her two goals in the game. Nearly six minutes later, Shea Swoboda put home a corner kick by Mandy Waters to equalize for the Tigers.
With less than five minuets remaining in regulation, Bauer tallied the game winner on a feed from Melissa McLellan.
The Cowgirls will return to action this Sunday when they host the Kansas Jayhawks at 1 p.m. at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
