Cowboy Golf Tied For Third At Ping/Golfweek Preview

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the Ping/Golfweek Preview with a six-over-par team total of 290 on Friday to finish tied for third place at Ohio State's Scarlet Course.
The Cowboys, who concluded play in a three-way tie with Oklahoma and Georgia, will begin Saturday's second round two strokes behind Clemson and one stroke behind Wake Forest.
Sophomore P?r Nilsson paced the Cowboys, carding an even-par total of 71 to stand in a tie for seventh place. Fellow sophomore Matt McQuillan finished the day one stroke back and will start play tomorrow in a tie for 13th.
First-team All-American Anders Hultman recorded an outward nine of 38 before coming in with a 35 on the back nine to card a first-round score of 73.
Junior J.C. DeLeon rebounded with a 35 on the back nine as well after going out with a three-over-par 39 on the front side. The Tulsa, Okla., native's 74 put him in a tie for 28th.
Sophomore Hunter Mahan rounded out the OSU lineup, posting a 75 and finished tied for 38th.
The Cowboys will tee off tomorrow morning with Clemson and Wake Forest at 10 a.m.
