STILLWATER, Okla. - In the first head to head bedlam match up of the year, Oklahoma State's women's cross country team beat the University of Oklahoma in almost unheard of fashion.
The Cowgirls had the first five runners cross the finish line, registering a perfect score against the rival Sooners.
Janine Brown crossed the finish line first, followed closely by: Charlotte Coffey, Amber Stephens, Alexandra Lindquist, and Michelle Simecka.
Head Coach Catrina Acosta has done a marvelous job with this group of student athletes. She took over the program six years ago and has turned it into one of the better programs in the Big 12 Conference. Assistant Coach Kim Whitaker has been right there with her every step of the way.
The Cowgirls will next compete on Saturday in the Cowboy Jamboree. Nationally ranked teams of Georgetown and Kansas State will pose as worthy competition in this year's field.
