Mark Mu?oz Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State student-athlete Mark Mu?oz, a senior on the 2000-01 wrestling squad this past season, has been named a recipient of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's postgraduate scholarship award, it was announced today.
Mu?oz is the third Oklahoma State honoree since the 1997 season. He will receive a $5,000 scholarship for part-time or full-time postgraduate study at the university or professional school of his choice.
A two-time All-American and the national champion at 197 pounds this past season, Mu?oz was also named to the first team of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Academic All-America squad for the second-straight year. In his five years at Oklahoma State, he accumulated a 3.41 grade point average while majoring in health promotions.
Named the Oklahoma State Male Athlete of the Year earlier this summer, Mu?oz compiled a 121-31 record in his four seasons on the mat for OSU. He was a two-time runnerup at the Big 12 Championships, and won the individual title this past season.
Sara Wells, a member of the Cowgirl track team, was also nominated for the postgraduate honor. She was also a finalist before the recipient list was announced.
