Wells Takes Sixth in the 5,000-Meter Run

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Oklahoma State's Sara Wells placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run on the final day of the Big 12 Track and Field Championships.
Wells's time of 16:48.48 slotted her behind Annie Wetterhus of Kansas State who had a time of 16:46.90.
Siri Alfheim just missed scoring points for the Cowgirls by finishing ninth with a time of 17:21.00.
Araceli Davila and Cat Clifford also competed in the finals of the 5,000-meter. Davila finished in fifteenth position with a time of 18:02.91, while Clifford came in 22nd with a time of 18:47.46.
The Cowgirls finished the competition with a total of six points. Kansas State was crowned as the team champion with 128.25 points.
Three members of the Cowgirl squad have qualified for the NCAA Championship Track and Field meet in Eugene, Oregon. Alexandra Lindquist, Wells, and Alfheim are all eligible to compete in the meet slated to begin June 3.
