Cowboy Golf Moves Up Two Spots at U.S. Collegiate

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mex. - Oklahoma State's golf team shaved nine strokes off of yesterday's team score, firing a team total of 287 on Saturday to move into sixth place heading into the final day of play at the U.S. Collegiate Golf Championships.
The University of Georgia posted a second-day score of 272 to sit firmly in first place, 15 shots ahead of second-place Georgia Tech.
The Cowboys registered a pair of one-under-par scores from Matt McQuillan and J.C. DeLeon, who each shot 71. Both players rebounded from rounds yesterday that saw them shoot 76 and 79, respectively.
Anders Hultman shot an even-par 72 to finish the day in a tie for seventh with a two-day total of 141. The junior will open play tomorrow six strokes behind tournament leader Nick Cassini of Georgia.
Freshman P?r Nilsson carded a 75 to stand in a tie for 35th place while sophomore Boyd Summerhays shot a 73 to finish play in a tie for 41st.
The Cowboys will finish play at the 7,057-yard Vista Vallarta Golf Club on Sunday.
