Oklahoma State's women's tennis team claimed a share of the Big 12 Title with Texas on Wednesday by defeating Missouri in Waco, Texas.
OSU won five-of-six singles matches and two-of-three doubles matches en route to a 6-1 victory over the Tigers.
"I am very excited and proud of the girls," head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said. "They have played well all year and have really worked toward this goal."
In her last regular-season match of her career, senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips pounded Jessica Ferguson, 6-0, 6-0, to record her 15th straight victory, finishing the year with a record of 18-4.
Sophomore Linda Faltynkova blew away Caitlin Thompson, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 3 spot to record her 19th victory of the season, while Katarzyna Kolodynska defeated Kristina Olshanskaya, 6-2, 7-6(7), at the No. 4 position, improving her record to 17-6.
Junior Ashleigh Dolman defeated Andrea Friedman in three sets, 6-1, 1-6, 6-1, at the No. 6 spot, while sophomore Kate Vasylyeva defeated Cassie Drake in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 5 position.
The Cowgirls' only set-back was at the No. 2 position when junior Dominika Olszewska fell to Urska Juric, 6-0, 1-0 (ret).
Faltynkova and Kolodynska remained perfect in regular-season play with a win over Thompson and Drake, 8-1, at 2 doubles. The duo takes a perfect 23-0 record in tournament play on Friday.
Olszewska and Vasylyeva defeated Olshanskaya and Marina Zelenovic, 8-6, notching the teams final point and improving their record to 14-6.
Missouri's last victory of the day came at the No. 1 doubles position when Juric and Ferguson defeated OSU's 36th-ranked duo of Phillips and Dolman, 9-7.
The Cowgirls open up tournament action on Friday when they take on the winner of Iowa State and Kansas.
