Baseball Takes On Arkansas In Mid-Week Contest

THIS WEEK
Oklahoma State will face Arkansas on Tuesday in the first game of the
Tulsa World Big Four Baseball Bash at 4:30 p.m. at Drillers Stadium in
Tulsa. Oklahoma and Oral Roberts will face off in the second game at
approximately 8 p.m.
The Cowboys will host Big 12 Conference rival Baylor this weekend at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The two teams will play under the lights with 7 p.m. starts on Friday and Saturday before wrapping up the series with a 2 p.m tilt on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE RAZORBACKS
Arkansas brings a 21-24 record into Tuesday's contest. The Razorbacks
have lost six of their last 10 games, but have two wins over 10th-ranked
Mississippi and a win over 13th-ranked Tennessee to their credit.
Offensively, the Razorbacks are led by shortstop Jeff Fletcher. The San Diego, Calif. native is hitting at a .354 clip with four home runs and 22 RBIs. Centerfielder Michael Conner is leading the team in home runs with eight and is third on the team with 25 RBIs.
Arkansas will be sending junior southpaw Jared Manatt to the mound. He is 0-1 on the season with a 7.65 ERA and has struck out 20 batters in 20.0 innings pitched.
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 40-16. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Cowboys defeated the Razorbacks 2-1 in Fayetteville.
PROBABLES ON THE MOUND
OSU will send junior Nick McCurdy to the mound in Tuesday's game. He
pitched the final 2.2 innings in Friday's game against Texas A&M, allowing
only one hit, striking out four batters and nearly picking up his first
career save. McCurdy is 5-3 this season with a 3.00 ERA.
LOOKING BACK
Oklahoma State took two games from Texas A&M this weekend, winning the
Big 12 conference series 2-1. The Cowboys jumped out to an early lead in
the first game, scoring five runs in the first three innings, and defeated
the Aggies 7-3. In the second game, Texas A&M scored five runs in the fifth
inning with the help of a grand slam, and defeated the Cowboys 9-6.
Oklahoma State won the third game and the series on Sunday behind Justin
Meccage's pitching performance. Meccage picked up his second win in five
days, as well as his first career complete game. Nebasett Brown led the
Cowboys offensively for the weekend, going 7-for-14 and extending his
hitting streak to 15 games, the longest of the season for the squad.
The Cowboys split a two-game mid week series with Gonzaga, shutting out the Bulldogs in the first game before falling 10-5 in Wednesday's game at the Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, despite pounding out 15 hits.
HOLLIDAY GETS 200TH WIN
Head coach Tom Holliday recorded his 200th in his five-year career at
Oklahoma State in Sunday's 9-4 win over Texas A&M.
