Two Cowboys Place First at John McDonnell Invitational

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Bjorn Bergstrom and Chris McWatters placed first in each of their events on Saturday.
Bergstrom finished first in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:16.80. McWatters placed first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:32.70.
Also competing in the 3,000-meter run was Trey Vernon. He placed fifth with a time of 8:34.58. Jerry Rainey's time of 8:44.30 earned him 10th place. Ben Sigle and Jon Cordes came in 11th and 12th. Sigle had a time of 8:44.52 and Cordes' time was 8:48.21. Johan Bergstrom had a time of 8:54.73 and a 13th-place finish. Matt Hart was the last Cowboy to cross the line in 15th and with a time of 8:56.48.
Cam Katchuk ran the 800-meter run. His time of 1:50.97 gave him fifth place. Ben Lake competed in the 1,500-meter run. He came in sixth with a time of 3:50.63.
Junior Vasquez was the only Cowboy to run in the 5,000-meter run. He placed fifth with a time of 14:47.59.
Part of he Cowboys, travel next to Kansas for the Kansas Relays. The rest of the squad will travel to California for the Mt. SAC meet. Both these meets will be held next week.
