NORMAN, Okla -- Oklahoma State's women's track team competed in the John Jacobs Invitational on Saturday. They ended up with four top ten finishes competing against other area schools from Oklahoma and Texas.
Sharalee Sparks edged teammate Araceli Davila for fifth place in the 1,500-meter run with times of 4:53.54 and 4:53.56. Sara Kofoed had an eighth place finish in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:18.08. Laurel Catlett King had a good showing in the javelin with a throw of 28.76 meters, good enough for another eighth place finish.
The young team will be able to take a lot of experience with them after competing in this event. They will be back in action next weekend at the Kansas Invitational in Lawerence, Kansas or at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California. The squad will be divided between these two meets.
