Carmichael Named Region Coach of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State assistant soccer coach Colin Carmichael has been named the U.S. Amateur Soccer Association's Region III Coach of the Year for 2000.
Carmichael, who is currently in his fifth year at OSU, was one of four regional winners recognized at a luncheon in Baltimore on Feb. 24 and was a finalist for the USACA's National Coach of the Year.
"I feel very privileged to receive this honor. There are a lot of great coaches in this region and to be chosen from such a group makes me truly proud," Carmichael said. "Getting the opportunity to work with such outstanding kids is a reward in itself."
Carmichael was recognized for his work at the amateur level in the state of Oklahoma.
Region III spans 11 states and includes, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
