Cowboy Golf In Second Place After 36 Holes

AUSTIN, Texas. -
Oklahoma State's men's golf team turned in a 36-hole total of 574, two-under-par, to finish the first day at the Cleveland Golf/Morris Williams Intercollegiate in second place.
The Cowboys, who are one stroke behind leader Georgia Tech, are paced by junior Anders Hultman. The All-American turned in a two-over score of 74 to open the tournament before blistering the course with a six-under-par 66 to close out the day. Hultman will enter play tomorrow in fourth place and five shots out of the lead.
Freshman Par Nilsson opened the tournament with a 69 followed by a 74 to finish in a tie for ninth place. Fellow newcomer Matt McQuillan turned in the Cowboys' other sub-70 round of the day, carding a second-round 69 to finish with a total of 145. The freshman will tee off tomorrow in a tie for 17th place.
Sophomores J.C. DeLeon and Boyd Summerhays round out the OSU lineup, sitting in a tie for 30th and 37th respectively.
The squad will conclude play at the 6.906-yard Austin Country Club tomorrow.
