Cowboy Tracksters Compete in OSU Duals

STILLWATER Okla. -- The Oklahoma State men's track team competed in the OSU Duals Saturday afternoon, in Stillwater.
Despite some injuries, the Cowboys finished well in four races.
OSU's Chris McWatters finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Although he fell, he completed the race in 10:24.51.
Ben Lake and Johan Bergstrom were the first two Cowboys to cross the line in the 1,500-meter run. Lake crossed the line in fifth-place with a time of 4:00.42. Bergstrom finished in sixth with a time of 4:01.07. Newcomer Matt Thomson placed 10th with a time of 4:08.44. Placing behind Thomson were Matt Hart and Ben Sigle. Hart finished with a time of 4:12.72 and in 11th-place. Sigle placed 12th with a time of 4:13.73.
Freshman Daniel Voegeli placed first in the 800-meter dash. His time was 1:54.40, two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Derek Tate finished sixth with a time of 1:59.07. Also in the 800m, Jerry Rainey finished with a time of 2:02.22 and a ninth-place finish.
Jason Woolhouse finished second in the 3,000-meter run. His time of 8:46.56 was three seconds better than third-place. Trey Vernon finished fifth with a time of 8:59.27, and Jon Cordes finished sixth with a time of 9:02.41.
The OSU Duals was the Cowboys first meet of the outdoor season. The team travels to Joplin, Missouri, next weekend for the Radio Shack Crossroads Invitational.
