Cowboy Baseball Upends Marshall 12-2

STILLWATER, Okla - Oklahoma State's baseball team got back on the winning track on Monday afternoon, dropping Marshall 12-2 before 1,080 fans at Reynolds Stadium.
The Cowboys (20-5) got their offense back on track, scoring in six of their eight trips to the plate and pounding out 15 hits on the day.
OSU got started in the second inning by putting four runs on the board. First baseman Zac Cazzelle looped a triple down the rightfield line to plate the Cowboys' first three runs. Shortstop Brian Kraft, who finished the contest 3-for-4, drove Cazzelle in with a double down the leftfield line.
The Cowboys pushed the lead to 5-0 on a RBI single by Rob Watson in the third inning.
The Thundering Herd (8-6) cut the deficit to three runs in the top of the fourth with two runs off Cowboy starter Jimmy Rhodes, who picked up the win in his second career start to move to 2-0 on the season.
OSU tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the the seventh when second baseman Nebasett Brown drew a bases-loaded walk to plate the Cowboys' eighth run. The RBI was one of three for Brown on the day, who finished 4-for-5 at the plate.
The Cowboys scored a pair of runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to provide the final outcome.
MU's Chris Wean (1-3) worked six innings and took the loss for the Herd.
The two teams will close out the two-game set tomorrow with a 3 p.m. contest.
