STILLWATER, Okla - Oklahoma State's baseball team exploded for 28 runs on 27 hits on Saturday, sparking the Cowboys to a 28-2 triumph over Princeton at Reynolds Stadium.
The Tigers (1-2) got a home run from Andrew Hanson to take an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. However, the Cowboys (15-3) countered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the frame to knot the score at one apiece.
The OSU offense busted out in the second, scoring seven runs off of Tiger starter Bryan Biegen. Rob Watson led off the inning with a home run before Brian Kraft delivered the inning's biggest blow, a three-run triple.
Watson finished the day 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs, while Kraft turned in a 3-for-4 performance with four runs scored and four RBIs.
Luke Scott added his second dinger, a two-run shot, in as many days to close out the inning's scoring.
OSU built the cushion to 12 runs in the third, putting up five runs on five hits, highlighted by Nebasett Brown's RBI triple. Brown finished the day 3-for-3 and scored three times.
The Pokes added their biggest inning in the fourth, crossing the plate eight times and getting solo home runs from Roy York and Brad Bouris.
OSU tacked on four runs in the fifth and another three in the sixth inning to close out the game's scoring. All told, 14 different Cowboys reached base and scored.
Cowboy starter Scott Baker remains perfect on the season, pitching five innings to move to 4-0 on the season. Biegen pitched 2.2 innings and surrendered 13 earned runs in the loss.
The two teams will close out the series tomorrow with game time set for 11:30 a.m.
