Tucson, Ariz. - Kentucky's Angie Dal Pazzo hit a game-winning single down the leftfield line and drove in an unearned run as the Wildcats defeated the Oklahoma State Cowgirls, 3-2, here Sunday afternoon in the Arizona/Pepsi Softball Classic.
UK's Beth Fogle reached on an infield error, and advanced to third on a walk and a groundout before Dal Pazzo's hit.
Cowgirl Danielle Thomas, a freshman, hit a leadoff home run in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 2-2. OSU had taken a 1-0 lead in the first when junior Jenny Kipp singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Ryan Realmuto.
Kentucky answered in the second with back-to-back doubles by Rachel Friberg and Andrea Eilertson to tie, and took the lead after a single by Jennifer Howland and a bunt single by Nikki Jones drove in Eilertson.
Oklahoma State finished the tournament at 2-3, and is 4-6 overall this season. The Cowgirls will host the OSU Cowgirl Spring Classic this Friday through Sunday, Feb. 23-25, at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.
