Lindquist Finishes High At Sooner Invitational

STILLWATER, Okla. -- At the beginning of the season, Cowgirl Track & Field Head Coach Catrina Acosta acknowledged that her junior All-American Alexandra Lindquist had decided to "get with it" this indoor season. She was right.
Today, at the Sooner Invitational in Norman, Okla., Lindquist posted two impressive finishes in separate events. She finished first in the 3,000m run with a time of 9:57.67. She also placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:12.56. Her time in the 800m was the team's best during the 2001 season.
Last weekend, Lindquist placed first in the mile run at the Tyson Invitational with a time of 4:49.22, allowing her to provisionally qualify for the national meet.
Next week, Lindquist and the rest of the Cowgirls will compete in the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Lincoln, Neb.
