STILLWATER, Okla. - Six home games, including Big 12 Conference dates against Missouri, Texas, Colorado and Texas Tech, highlight the 2001 Oklahoma State University football schedule.
First-year head coach Les Miles and his Cowboys will open the season September 1 at Southern Mississippi. The Eagles are one of six teams on the Cowboys' 2001 schedule that are coming off bowl appearances.
The 2001 home opener is scheduled for Sept. 8 against Louisiana Tech and the Cowboys remain at home the following week against Northern Arizona (Sept. 15). Northern Arizona replaces Wyoming on the 2001 schedule. The Cowboys were scheduled to play in Stillwater this season but will appear on OSU's 2003 schedule.
Following the back-to-back non-conference home games, OSU opens Big 12 Conference play at Texas A&M on Sept. 22. OSU has two open dates during the 2001 season, the first of which comes on Sept 29 before back-to-back home games against Missouri and Texas.
After a trip to Iowa State on Oct. 20, the Cowboys return for a Homecoming battle against Colorado on Oct. 27. The home finale is set for Nov. 10 against Texas Tech and the Cowboys close out the regular season at Baylor on Nov. 17 and at defending national champion Oklahoma on Nov. 24.
Season ticket information for the 2001 season is available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-877-ALL-4OSU. Kickoff times will be announced at a later date and all times are subject to change according to Big 12 Conference television contracts.
